The Brandýs Executioner’s House is one of the few preserved executioner’s residences that is partially open to the public. Visitors can explore an exhibition that presents the history of capital punishment and the executioner’s craft. Through this exhibition, you can learn about the darker side of our past, when torture was commonly used during interrogations, death penalties were pronounced, and public executions were witnessed by crowds. The exhibition is designed to be suitable for children, who can try out some items in our small "torture chamber."
The Brandýs Executioner’s House is located near the center of Brandýs nad Labem and is easily recognizable by the Renaissance sgraffito on its façade. It is one of the branches of the East Prague Regional Museum. The site is open every Saturday and Sunday from July to August, between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM.
