The Museum of Sugar Production, Distillation, Beet Growing, and the Town of Dobrovice introduces visitors to the development of Czech sugar production, which has gained international fame and recognition. Along with related fields—such as the breeding and cultivation of sugar beets as raw material for sugar production and distillation—it provides a comprehensive picture that has been lacking in our republic. It is no coincidence that the Museum of Sugar Production, Distillation, and Beet Growing opened in Dobrovice. The area around Dobrovice is the cradle of sugar beet cultivation in our region, and sugar has been produced here continuously since 1831.
