Exhibition Hall is located in the heart of the spa promenade right next to the Art Nouveau Viola Café and the Central Spa. The gallery is located on the premises of the Colonnade of Friendship and Art. The founder and owner of the gallery is Lázně Poděbrady, corp. The operator is Polabská umělecká společnost, NPO. The exhibition hall is named after Ludvík Kuba in honour of the Poděbrady native who lived in the town and held several exhibitions there.
The Poděbrady Gallery manages the spa's extensive collection of both contemporary and modern art acquired during more than a century of the local spa tradition. The heart of the spa's art collection is formed by a number of works by leading representatives of Czech modern art: Vincenc Beneš, Antonín Hudeček, Ludvík Kuba, Václav Radimský and others. The collection of modern art is complemented by works gained during regular exhibition activity in the spa buildings (Emil Filla, Jaroslav Grus, association of visual artists Group Máj 57 and other Czech well-known artists) and during frequent convalescent stays of artists in the spa (e.g. F. X. Naske). The expansion of the spa collections happened also due to the building activities during the socialist period in Czechoslovakia.
The construction and reconstruction of the spa houses associated with the so-called "Four Percent Art Act" which mandated that a portion of the budget be devoted to decorations and oversaw the quality of the artwork, extended the collection with unique marble sculptures by Břetislav Benda, sculptures by Jan Hana, glass sculptures by the duo Jaroslava Brychtová and Stanislav Libenský, and the famous Montreal columns by René Roubíček
