Milovice Military Area Museum
Information
The Military Area Museum in Milovice was established with the aim of presenting visitors with the unique story of the former Military Training Area Mladá, and of showing how the presence of a military base influenced the lives of local residents. The creation of the museum also serves to preserve and showcase the military history and conflicts in this area from 1904 to 1991.
The exhibition includes military equipment, uniforms, gear, photographs, and other artifacts that provide visitors with a comprehensive view of the development and events connected to the military zone near Milovice. The museum seeks to shed light on the past and contribute to a better understanding of the region’s military history.
Exhibitions
The Military Area Museum in Milovice features two exhibitions, both designed to tell the unique story of the former Military Training Area Mladá and to illustrate how military presence shaped everyday life for the surrounding communities.
The main exhibition is chronologically divided into five sections, each accompanied by text panels describing the respective historical periods, along with fascinating displays of weapons, mannequins in authentic military uniforms, and interactive elements — some of which visitors are even allowed to touch.
The museum uses the latest interactive technologies and continues to evolve. In addition to two TV walls, the exhibition includes research computers with access to the museum’s website. Every text panel features a QR code linking to additional online content at muzeum-milovice.cz, where more information and photographic materials will gradually be added. A special children’s section offers memory games and puzzles tailored for young visitors.
The art exhibition displays mosaics from the socialist era that were successfully preserved in Milovice. This part of the museum is accessible only during guided tours.
