Summer traditionally belongs to children at Loučeň Castle
Czech Fairytale Summer - Childhood in the time of Charles IV.
Throughout the month on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays you can enjoy knight tournaments, skills and various skits. The Czech Fairytale Summer runs at Loučeň Castle until Saturday 26 August.
A time machine will take us back to the time of the young King Charles to the year 700. Young Charles returns home after his first knightly victories. Can you help him restore peace and order to the Bohemian Kingdom?
Children will experience what it is like to be a pageboy and complete tasks to gain all the necessary knightly virtues. Among the tasks of the pageants there will be a knight`s course, spear hunting, shooting a catapult at a tower and much more.

10:00 Opening ceremony
10:10 - 11:15 1st round of tasks:
- Jousting with Roland
- Throwing rings on the shield
- Shooting the catapult on the tower
11:30 How Charles travelled from Italy 1st skit
(12:00 - 13:00 break)
13:00 Audience at the Royal 2nd skit
13:30 - 14:45 2nd round of tasks:
- Knight`s Course
- Javelin Hunt
- Exploring crafts
15:00 Luxembourg Tournament 3rd skit
15:30 - 16:15 3rd round of tasks:
- Stream crossing
- Catapult shooting on the tower
- Jousting with Roland
16:30 - 17:00 Conquest of the Castle 4th skit

Change of programme, especially due to bad weather, subject to change (part of the programme may be moved to the orangery, part cancelled).
There will also be castle tours throughout the day - classic, children`s and chocolate tours.
